¡Bienvenidos!

                                     School Year 2016-2017

Hola! my name is sra. Martha Abeille and I welcome you to the new school year.
I was born in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.  The state of Nuevo Leon is recognized for its industrial, commercial and educational strength. Nuevo Leon is Mexico’s 3rd largest city after Mexico-City and Guadalajara. In 2002, I moved to Massachusetts to marry my husband and on February 17, 2011, I had the honor and privilege to become US citizen at
Boston Faneuil Hall a national historic landmark.

I graduated from the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo León (U.A.N.L) where I earned a Bachelor Degree in Applied Linguistics with emphasis in Translation and I am currently enrolled in Master of Arts in Teaching Spanish program at Salem State University. I started my teaching career twenty four years ago in Mexico. I worked for private bilingual schools like Instituto San Roberto and Colegio Americano Anáhuac. While in the United States I have had the opportunity to teach in South Shore Charter Public School, in Norwell, MA.

Additionally, I currently have the privilege of teaching for ten years at King Philip Regional District . I taught 8th grade in the middle school for three years, and currently will be teaching my seventh year at the high school. The classes I will be teaching this year are Spanish V,  Spanish IV Honors, and Spanish III College Preparatory. In addition to teaching I will be one of the Spanish Honor Society Advisors of our chapter "Granada".

As everybody else, I enjoy hobbies. Among some of my hobbies, I love drawing, creating computer animations that I use on my website or in my animated PowerPoints; traveling to Mexico and France, cooking, jogging with my husband and watching good movies, old and new.

Spanish is a challenging and important course that I love teaching. Throughout the school year, students will engage in activities and projects that will increase their knowledge of the Spanish-speaking culture and their ability to communicate in Spanish. Perseverance, a positive attitude, hard work and dedication are key words for success. I look forward to meet all you soon. I am confident that we will have a great year!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Martha Abeille
